Happy Thanksgiving

The holidays have begun...  Back on Halloween!

This is one of my favorite times of the year,  Spending time with loved ones and seeing smiles.

Tomorrow is what they call "Black Friday"...  Everyone goes shopping for the deals and such.
While you're out (if you are one who will be, I personally avoid Black Friday) shopping for your friends and loved ones today, or any day this season I ask that you take a moment and think of those less fortunate.  Those who might need a Santa to help them this year.  Drop some food off at  a local food pantry or shelter, some pet food to a animal shelter, or a toy or two for Toys For Tots or at a shelter also...
It's the least we can do.

What I am thankful for this year...

As always I am thankful for my amazing girlfriend Brie.
Every day I want to be a better person to keep up with her.
My family...  Parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, the one nephew, the grandparents, and the extended family...  And Brie's family too...  Everyone is awesome and supportive.
The Elmwood Gang - Mike, Russ, Trick, Gabe, Nick, Ben, Rick, Crystal, Jeremy, Jim, Abel, and the extended Elmwood crew too - cuz we never stop laughing and creating.
Every time we get together is a blast
Trick Rock, cuz he is Tricky Rock.
Tugger and Ripper - my homeboys
Blue - wish you were still here.

And I'm thankful to you, whoever you are, reading this today!

Wow….

I remember this night well…
It was the Friday after my bother died (that date on the paper is when it was published) the show was early October…
We (Tricky, Sten, and I) had bought the tickets months earlier, kinda just for the fun of it.  And we ended up in the second of third row.  And that nite out was something I so needed at that moment.
Thanks guys!

And thanks Debbie for coming out too, with Megan, and doing this article so I have something to remember the nite with!

We were some handsome dudes…  Hahahahaha!

Sendak

Brie and I went to the New Britain Museum of American Art yesterday morning to see the Maurice Sendak exhibit,
It was jaw dropping to see his work up close in not on the printed page.  I grew up on his books, and have always been a fan.  I wrote a bit about him when he passed away last year…

But I just wanted to recommend going to the the exhibit to anyone in the area, or if the tour comes to yours…  It's awe inspiring!

Monday. So far so good…

Making puppets and fixing some others…
Getting ready for a fun 2014 already with some new projects.
Drinking great coffee and listening to great music.

These are the last two songs to come up on my iPod while on shuffle… Perfect puppet making music...

Oh Christmas Tree.. It's Way Early!

No…  My tree isn't up yet!  Earlier this week Elmwood shot a holiday short to be seen at screenings we're lining up for December.  I did set up the tree while listening to Cee-Lo's Christmas album to get the mood right though.  And pre-shooting the Elmwood gang played some Muppet Christmas music.
I think I'm starting to get into the spirit early now though!

The short we shot is part of "Animal Behavior"!  And you can come see it on 12/14/13 at
The Desultory Theatre Club in Torrington CT!
All there info on that is

Today's mug

This one was my grandfathers mug.
My aunt gave me a couple of his mugs after he passed away in 2006.
Today I'm drinking Joe's Dark from Trader Joe's…  Milk and sugar.

Today's Mug

Sesame Street 30th Anniversary "Family Photo 1985" Mug
I got this mug in  a weird gift shop in a weird mall in St. Pete FL, back in 2001.  The whole mall looked like it was stuck in 1978, and every looked to be closing in it...
The gift shop wall all old media character merchandise.  Ton's on Looney Toons, Tom and Jerry, and some Muppets, Betty Boop, etc...
By old I mean the items were old.  This mug, for example was made in 1998, and another travel mug I bought was from 1996.  The woman that worked there didn't even know the prices...  I ended up with three brand new mugs, the travel mug, this one and a matching one of Grover on a horse (that is gone now) for under 6 bucks...  Ahhhh, Florida!

Todays Mug...

My parents called this "Asthma Smurf"
They like to tease me...  This is probably my oldest in use mug, from 1980ish.  I got just before the Smurfs blew up in the early 1980's, and I still keep in it use.
Today I'm drinking Smooth and Mellow Blend from Trader Joe's...  It really lives up to it's name!

Short Movie about Elmwood!?!

"Of Puppets And Men: Elmwood Productions"
is a short (and funny) documentary made for a film class by student Ryan Brown.
Ryan has been nice enough to let us share it here on our YouTube channel!
Featuring members of Elmwood Productions and some behind the scenes footage from "Steve the Vampire" and "Animal Behavior".
